SSA Monthly Checks
The Social Security Administration (SSA) releases different payments to millions of Americans and some are in the form of monthly checks.
The most common payments are the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the retirement or disability pension payment, Tododisca reported. The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program provides monthly checks to adults and children with a disability or blindness who have income and resources below specific financial limits.
Requirements for the SSI monthly checks
Not all citizens can receive monthly checks for Supplemental Security Income. According to the SSA, to be eligible for SSI monthly check, you must have limited income and resources. That means, if you are earning less than $2,827 per month, you may apply for the SSI monthly check. In addition to the financial requirements, SSI also has eligibility criteria related to age, disability, blindness, and citizenship. Children with physical or mental limits may also qualify for SSI if they live in a household with limited income or resources.

When to expect SSI monthly checks
The Social Security Administration pays SSI monthly checks on the 1st of each month. However, if the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday, the check is sent on the immediately preceding business day. This is important to keep in mind if you rely on SSI monthly checks for your monthly expenses. In 2023, there are several months where this irregular situation will occur, including January, April, July, and October. During these months, Social Security will not send out the check for SSI on the 1st, but rather on the immediately preceding business day. It is advisable to plan accordingly for these months to ensure that you have the funds you need to cover your expenses.
