Stimulus Check Update: South Carolina Residents Can Get $800 By New Year’s Eve

South Carolina residents can receive a one-time payment of $800 before New Year’s Eve, according to the budget plan approved in June.

The budget plan includes $1 billion to mail refund checks to residents. The amount of the rebate will be based on the tax payable by the recipient in 2021. Tax payable is the amount remaining after deducting income tax credits. The maximum reimbursement is $800, according to state law.

According to a published post by International Business Times, to receive a tax refund, South Carolina residents must file the 2021 SC1040 tax form. Residents who filed their 2021 income tax returns by October 17th will receive their refund checks by December 31st.

The state will issue a second rebate to those who file their tax returns by February 15, 2023. The check is due for him to be issued in March 2023.

The South Carolina Department of Treasury has created a website that allows applicants to calculate their rebate amount. The website also allows applicants to track when they receive their tax refund payments. To use the website’s tracking system, applicants must have either a social security number or an individual taxpayer identification number on form SC1040.

South Carolina is one of more than a dozen states that will send or issue stimulus checks to residents instead of a fourth payment from the federal government. In Alaska, residents began receiving energy relief payments of $650 by direct deposit in September and $650 by check in October.
