Inflation-Relief Payments: US States with year-end tax-related benefits

The cost of living increases during the holidays, and things could worsen this year.

In line with this, several states have approved resident financial aid programs such as inflation-relief payments. And part of this cash will be received this month. The fees listed below, for instance, could arrive by the end of 2022.

According to The Ascent’s report, qualified California citizens will receive direct payment of up to $1,050, including those who have yet to receive their Golden State Stimulus check because their banking details changed.

On the other hand, residents eligible for the Colorado Cash Back program who filed their taxes late will get a payout of $750 for single filers and $1,500 for joint filers.

Idaho residents will also receive a direct payment of $300 for single filers and $600 for joint filers, whichever is greater: 10% of taxes submitted on 2020 forms.

Meanwhile, residents will receive New Jersey who filed their state tax returns using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. Moreover,

Others include:
A rebate of $650 to $975 for senior Pennsylvanians with earnings under a specific limit.
A refund of up to $800 for residents of South Carolina.
Payouts of up to $250 for Virginians who filed a 2021 tax return as an individual or $500 for those who did so as a married couple.

Those who receive these funds can use them for anything they want, including paying down debt or covering holiday costs.

Other Americans

Even if they are not on this list, individuals may still be eligible for an additional stimulus payment. Their state might proceed with approving one. Or, before Congress switches parties and the Republicans take over the House of Representatives, the federal government could enact an enhanced Child Tax Credit during the lame-duck session, report said.

They would likely act slowly enough to send the money out to help with the holidays even if their local state or the federal government did take action. They might receive their next direct payment in 2023.
