$30 Million Excluded Workers Fund (EWF) Will Be Sent To New Yorkers Who Lost Their Jobs
Most of the recipients will receive and get the maximum benefit of $15,600. 130,000 New Yorkers who were not eligible and qualified for traditional unemployment insurance or the other pandemic relief benefits and assistance will receive and get more than $2 billion.
The first-of-its-kind program served and assisted as a model for other similar programs launched by the local and state governments all over the country.
The 1,900 New Yorkers are set to get benefits and assistance as a feature of the last round of installments from the state’s unforgettable Excluded Workers Fund (EWF). Before the end of the year, approximately $30 million will be sent. More than 130,000 EWF applications have been accepted and approved, and the whole $2.1 billion fund and fewer administrative costs will be soon distributed and given to eligible and qualified New Yorkers.
The New Yorkers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic that were incapable to participate and contribute to a variety of federal assistance and support programs, such as joblessness and pandemic benefits will receive and get financial assistance and support from the EWF.
Nearly $30 Million in Final Excluded Workers Fund Payments to Be Sent to New Yorkers in Need
According to a published post by New York State, the Department of Labor acknowledged over 90,000 applications in the first month after the program pass on live in August 2021. Applicants and claimants wanted to show and prove their identity in addition to where they lived so that they will be eligible and qualified for EWF benefits and assistance.
