$2k Final Direct Payments for New Year Given by Seven States

Seven states are sending residents their last direct payments of 2022, some even worth up to $2,000. In California, over 20 million residents are waiting for their checks ranging from $200 to $1,050 as a part of the state’s $ 17 billion relief program that started in October.

California Governor Gavin Newson, along with state Atkins and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon have struck a deal on the budget for 2022-2023. This includes $ 17 billion worth of inflation relief in form of tax rebates.

Citizens of Colorado are to receive rebates worth $750 for individuals and $1,500 for couples. Those residents who have filed their tax returns late will get their rebates before January 2023 ends. The payout for single tax filers will be worth $750, and for joint filers is valued at $1,500.

Eligible taxpayers in Idaho can expect rebates in the coming weeks if they have filed their tax returns by December 31. By the Idaho State Tax Commission, full-year residents will receive $300 for single filers and $600 for joint filers which is equivalent to 10% of the taxes paid recorded on a taxpayer’s 2020 income tax bill.

Citizens of Pennsylvania can apply for a rebate by the new year to claim a check of up to $975. Homeowners must have an income lower than $35,000 annually and renters must have an income lower than $15,000. Applications are open until the 31st of December.
