The Plot of Dexter: New Blood:

He is in a romantic relationship with Angela Bishop, the town’s chief of police, and has successfully suppressed his vigilante serial killing urges. Dexter’s deceased sister Debra has taken the place of their father Harry as an imaginary presence with whom he frequently converses. In the first, his son Harrison from a previous life shows up unexpectedly with mysterious intentions. A series of incidents near Iron Lake make Dexter fearful that the “Dark Passenger” within him, possibly his son, will emerge.
How does the Plot Starts?
After leaving Miami, Dexter takes the alias Jim Lindsay and lives in a small rural town in upstate New York. He is dating police chief Angela Bishop and works at a local outdoor and gun shop. Dexter follows a strict daily workout regimen to control his homicidal impulses while listening to Debra, whom he sees in his imagination. Dexter’s routine is upended when his son, Harrison, discovers him, and a reckless local named Matt Caldwell pressures Dexter into selling him a high-end hunting rifle. Dexter realizes that Caldwell once crashed his powerboat into another vessel, killing five people. While it was initially reported as an accident, Caldwell’s friend assures Dexter that the act was planned.
How does the Plot End?
Dexter fights with Harrison, who realizes he killed Logan, an innocent man. They conclude that his code is flawed, Harrison isn’t like him, and the only way to be “normal” is to die. He orders Harrison to shoot him with the rifle to atone for his failures as a father and to free his son. Before being fatally shot, Dexter’s inner monologue reveals that he experiences love for the first time. Angela shows up in the aftermath, hands Harrison some money, and tells him to leave town and never return as she prepares to accept responsibility for Dexter’s death. Before leaving town, Harrison reads Dexter’s final letter to Hannah.
Does Dexter: New Blood Season 2 Happening?
There has been no word on Dexter: New Blood Season 2 will take place. Clyde Phillips, executive producer, and showrunner said he would like to continue the story through Dexter’s son Harrison. He said the show was a tremendous asset to the network. “When people start bingeing this after the finale, I’m confident the numbers will continue to rise,” he added. It is up to Showtime to contact me if they require additional information. I would say yes if they asked if I wanted to continue this. I have a lot on my plate, but I would drop everything and say yes in an instant.”
