The plot of Black Widow
In 1995, super soldier Alexei Shostakov and black widow Melina Vostokoff acted as Russian secret agents in Ohio, following their daughters Natasha Romanoff and Elena Belova. They are the S.H.I.E.LD. After stealing information, they fled to Cuba, and their boss, General Dreykov, took Romanoff and Yelena Belevoa to the Red Chamber for investigation. In the following decades, Shostakov was imprisoned in Russia, and Romanov and Belova became successful and dangerous assassins. Romanoff eventually joined SHIELD. After helping Clint Barton blow up Drakeoff’s office in Budapest, he kills Drakeoff and his young daughter, Antonia.
Production Details of “Black Widow”
In February 2004, Lionsgate acquired the rights to Black Widow, and in April, it was announced that Marvel Studios’ Avi Arad would produce and David Hayter would write and direct. In June 2006, Lionsgate abandoned the project and returned the rights to Marvel Studios. Hayter and Marvel tried to attract other financiers to develop the project, but Hayter said, “It’s never been easier to find a place where you can take the film and the characters seriously.” It left Hayter “broken”, but he hoped the film would be made “one day”.
