Police were called to the bar to stop a fight. When they arrived, they reportedly found a dead man who sustained a gunshot wound in the chest, ABC 13 reported.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the man was pronounced dead on the spot.

Sgt. Jason Brown from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said that the fight broke out between the victim and several other individuals. He did not clarify what the fight was about or how the shooting started.

The Harris County police did say that one of the other individuals involved in the fight pulled out a gun and fired multiple times, killing the man on the spot.

Authorities also said that they have reasons to believe that the victim, the suspect, and others involved in the fight knew each other.
